Something for Nothing
Dear House Rules,
My friend is very artistic and offered to do my logo for free. I would love to save the money, but how do I know if I’m getting exactly what I need? What should I do?
Sincerely,
Something for Nothing
Dear Something for Nothing,
Would you let your friend extract a tooth or set a broken bone? The answer should be no, unless you are on an episode of Survivor. Your company’s brand marketing is no different. It might seem simple enough for an artistic type to draw a picture for your logo, or create an image on their laptop, but in the end, marketing a product, service or company is a concerted effort filled with details and nuances best left to a professional creative shop.
Your brand creates a first and lasting impression for your customer. A professional designer with experi- ence in the strategic insights of what it takes to build a brand identity can help your business stand out and look polished and professional with a brand identity that includes:
- Competitive search and investigation
- Color theory analysis
- Unique iconography on point with your business positioning
- Custom type design
- Numerous file formats saved at the right size, resolution and color formatting for print and digital needs.
All imagery that is published concerning your business impacts your professional persona and influences the buying patterns of current and perspective customers. It could actually cost you money to use an incomplete or incompetent brand.
